Zoning to Block Uses - Everett Zoning Blocks Social Services Downtown

Zoning codes often cause builders and busineses a lot of problems. But they can also cause issues for non-profits and service providers who find themselves zoned out of locations.

For this story we start by jumping in a time machine to go back to August of 2018 when the City of Everett adopted The Metro Everett Plan, a plan that sought to address the city’s increasing GMA population and employment targets by laying out the vision for a downtown subarea that encouraged more mixed use residential and commercial development.
